Sales Engineer

Role Overview:

As a Sales Engineer within our Sales Department, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our company by leveraging your technical expertise and sales acumen to support our sales executives and deliver exceptional solutions to our clients. Your primary responsibility will be to provide technical guidance and support throughout the sales process, from prospecting to deal closure, ensuring that our customers receive tailored solutions that meet their needs and drive value for their businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support Sales Executives:
    1. Assist sales executives with solution selling into prospect account base.
    2. Collaborate with sales executives to plan, prepare, and execute strategic deals in complex sales cycles.
    3. Model the financial business case associated with each sales opportunity.
  2. Technical Expertise:
    1. Successfully match customer pain/requirements to proposed solutions.
    2. Create and deliver powerful presentations and demos that clearly communicate the uniqueness of the value proposition.
    3. Manage all technical aspects of RFP/RFI responses.
  3. Relationship Management:
    1. Forge strong, long-lasting relationships with senior executives.
    2. Effectively communicate client needs to the R&D teams for future product enhancements.
    3. Collect and document competitive intelligence.
  4. Sales Support and Strategy:
    1. Communicate with the sales team to understand consumer demands and offer sales support where necessary.
    2. Secure orders, guarantee product standards, and assure product delivery.
    3. Establish customer rapport and acceptance.
  5. Product Development and Improvement:
    1. Plan for modifications to products to meet consumer demands.
    2. Help clients solve problems with product usage.
    3. Recommend new and improved products to customers and explain how the equipment will be more cost-effective.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; advanced degree a plus.
  • 5+ years of B2B SaaS experience with a proven track record selling complex enterprise solutions.
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies.
  • Ability to creatively explain and present complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Superior presentation and demonstration skills with a focus on storytelling
  • Ability to work as part of a team to solve business and technical problems
  • Experience of working across a range of industries and being able to understand the current landscape and typical challenges and opportunities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
